It's light outside
January 17th 2011
I was in the metro, going home after a long day at work, and I grabbed the LAST available daily newspaper in the Parisian metropolitain. I was reading it, and then I saw this :

At the time, I was a big fan of One Tree Hill (and I still am), so obviously I watched the episodes with Grubbs, and really liked his music. After some researches, I discovered that Grubbs has a band called Wakey!Wakey!, so you can imagine my surprise when I saw that they were coming in Paris in a few days … !
The 18th was my day off, so in the morning I called a couple of friends to ask them if they wanted to come with me ! Unfortunately, they told me they had plans already, which I understood because it was only 6 days before the gig. I decided I would go anyway, and went to a store to buy my ticket.
6 days later …
I’ve been to a few concerts before, but never alone, I guess I just thought it would be sad.And on this rainy Sunday evening, here I am, on my own, ready to attend a small concert, which will happen to be the greatest gig I’ve ever been to (of course, I didn’t know that). While we were waiting outside, I noticed a few girls in front of me, watching OTH episodes on their iPhones, getting in the mood I suppose :).
I was right in front of a keyboard. & that’s when I fell in love with Wakey!Wakey!
As I already said, it was the best gig I’ve ever been to. Mike was “accompanied” by a keyboard only (his ?), and it was just amazing.
During the Meet & Greet in London, in June 2011, I asked Wesley (from Family Records) why Mike was not with the rest of the band, and he said that it would have been too expensive to bring the whole band and instruments, and for the accommodation as well (Paris is not cheap, nope !). I have no idea how it works to organize a concert (with the venue and all), but because W!W! was not really famous in France a year ago, I think we have been pretty freakin’ lucky !
After that I joined Team Wakey! on Facebook, and Twitter, and Tumblr (no, I’m not a geek !).
And since then, I attended another concert of W!W! in London, on June 14th 2011, and the 1st ever Meet&Greet (we had the chance to see the rehearsal, have a little chat with Mike and Tanya), happily participated to the Fall Tour Challenge and won ex-aequo with Birte, another Team Wakey! member.
It’s a pleasure spreading W!W! love.
So if you don’t know them or just heard of them, please google them, check them out on YouTube and listen :).
Here is their official website as well : http://wakeywakeymusic.com/home/.

Ypu will recognize the design of those pics cause I already posted a couple of those a few months ago.
Tonight I discovered there was a blog : http://parisvsnyc.blogspot.com/.
Just so you know, I have lived in Paris for 3 years and my dream is to visit NYC !!!

Love both !

Is winter really like this in NYC ??? Cause it really is in Paris …

This concert was on June 26th 2010 in Paris, and I was there with a very good friend. When Melissa (the girl invited on stage) sang Longview, without Billie Joe (!), we all quickly noticed that she was not a singer, but she was so energetic and.. alive !!! It really was a great performance !
And then, at the end, after asking for her name, Billie Joe simply gave her his guitar. I can’t imagine what Melissa felt right at that time … Crazy, right ?!?
This magical moment gave me the goosebumps, and still does everytime I watch this video.
